The Calentado is pronounced as «calentao», it is a traditional homemade dish prepared in Colombian homes, and can be described as an out-of-date meal to delight breakfast.
They are prepared with the meals that were not consumed the previous day, this food were refrigerated, conserved and they were returned at the same time the following day, one of the main dishes a «reheat» are the beans and the rice is usually served with hogao and accompanied off arepa, egg, chocolate (cocoa) or aguapanela and cheese.
There are versions of «calentao» that have egg, cheese, chicharrón and chorizo.
This dish is traditional in different regions of the country to start the day and it is absolutely delicious. The representative muleteers, the culture of the country and the coffee region of Colombia usually eat breakfast with «calentao».
